Our founder, Val Bonney, has over 50 years of experience with dogs, from obedience to agility and everything in between.   • Do you offer group training?
    Yes we do! and in different Locations and times to suit you. Choose and BOOK as our classes fill quickly. We offer different group classes and courses based on your dogs age and sometimes their existing skill level! To know what to book in to, here is a quick guide: STEP 1 - If your puppy is under 18 weeks of age you are looking to BOOK - Puppy Magic is the right choice: Classes are held in several Brisbane Locations too. STEP 2 - f your dog is over 18 weeks of age, you are looking for "Best Mates!" This is our Basic Dog Training Obedience which is a must for everyone. Step 3 - If you have completed "Best Mates!" with us, or you have done training somewhere else for Basic Obedience, or one of our trainers has done an assessment with you privately, and advised you to do our intermediate training, you are looking for the awarded "Unleashed!" Course. Step 4 - These are classes which are run at The Gap every saturday morning - for dogs who have good basic skills. No need to book. Just turn up at the beginning of the session - See Limitless in the website. If you are still unsure of what to do, fill out the contact form at the bottom of our website homepage or give us a call !
  • Do you offer private training?
    Yes we do! We offer one-on-one sessions as well as In-Home Training. Have a look at the Private Training tab on our website homepage or in the Bookings page for more information on each of them! Generally speaking these sessions are conducted with Senior Dog Trainer and Puppy Master Trainer Peter Bonney. Peter is a second gen dog trainer.
  • What course is right for my dog?
    Bonnies prides itself with being a leading dog and puppy trainers for 50 years. STEP 1: Puppies = Puppy Magic If you have a new puppy between 8 and 18 weeks of age, you are looking for our Puppy Magic Course! It is based around teaching you how to begin your happy life with your new friend and teaches you all understanding your puppy and working as a team. We really love being positive with our puppies and we are very happy to pass this knowledge onto you. Puppys Rule! STEP 2: Basic Obedience = Best Mates If you have an older dog, older than 16 weeks of age, you may be looking for our Best Mates Course! It is our 6-week, general basic obedience course, based around teaching you and your dog basic verbal commands such as sit, stay, stand, drop/down, recall, etc. We also teach the Visual Cue Commands and set this into how the dog works with you. STEP 3: Intermediate Dog Obedience = Unleashed Many clients go onto STEP 3 who want their Best Mate to be off - lead too. For handlers and dogs who have a basic obedience knowledge: STEP 4: Limitless This is for any handler and puppy with a good basic knowledge. It runs as individual classes which are run currently at The Gap on Saturday Mornings. Go and find these courses in Our Services or on our Bookings Page. It will give you more information there!
  • Can multiple people attend with the dog?
    For The Gap, Aspley and Enoggera Puppy Classes you are welcome to bring your entire family to learn together (up to 4). Heaps of room for you all and your puppy too. However, if you are attending the Puppy Magic session at Red Hill Vets on Enoggera Tce, we ask that only a maximum of 2 people attend if possible. This is a small venue so very limited spaces. Please be aware that younger children may find it a bit tedious after the first 30 minutes of excitement around all the Puppies. We kindly request that all kids under the age of 10 have a responsible adult accompanying them during the session. We certainly would prefer 2 adults with a child but sometimes this is not possible. This arrangement allows the individual training their dog, to concentrate fully on the training of their puppy without distractions.
  • How do I book in?
    It's super easy to book in! All you have to do is click on the service you would like to book in for and click "Book Now". You will input some information like you and your dogs names (This is so we know who you are when you show up and we can tick you off!). It will also take you through the whole payment process on our secure checkout! If the "Book Now" button is instead replaced by "The service is unavailable for booking", it means that particular service is fully booked!
  • How often do you start new courses?
    STEP 1 - Our Puppy Magic courses start every 2 weeks, at The Gap and every 4 weeks at Red Hill and Aspley and Enoggera. Puppy Magic - Wednesday Nights The Gap 7PM - Sunday 8AM at Enoggera - Aspley Monday 7PM - Red Hill 3PM Sunday. STEP 2 - We start our Best Mates courses every 3 weeks at The Gap both Friday nights at 730PM and Saturday 730AM and every 6 weeks at Enoggera starting at 0915AM. STEP 3 - Our Unleashed course starts every 6 weeks at Enoggera on Sundays at 10.45AM STEP 4 - Limitless classes - come any Saturday to be consistent with your dog - its great fun too. If, for example, you are getting your pup in 4 weeks time, you may not see a class on the website yet for that time. All you have to do is wait and the new classes will go up shortly as previous ones finish! Call 0408 337 110 if you need any help.
  • Are there any spots left in this course?
    We do often book out, however, you will be able to tell if a course has space left in it by starting the booking process. If, when you click on the service you would like it says, "Book Now", then that means there is still space! If, when you click on the service you would like it says, "This Service is Unavailable for Booking", that means that it is booked out! If the service you want is booked out, have a look at the next set that are starting.
  • I would like to socialise my dog, can you help?"
    We certainly can! Due to the fact that we run group classes for dogs of all ages, you can rest assured we have a spot for you somewhere! All of our group classes generally have between 8 - 12 other dogs/people and 1 - 2 trainers. Our top priority is making sure that everyone and their furry friends are safe, so you can feel confident that you will be able to socialise saftely and devlop skills with your dog in a very controlled environment!
  • Do you have experience with my dogs breed?
    We sure do! Bonnies has been in business for over 46 years so you can feel very confident that we have dealt with your dog's breed many times and have acheived great results!
  • Is there support after we complete training?
    There sure is! After you complete a course with Bonnies, you receive a "Gold Card" with your certificate, this entitles you to contact Bonnies for the entire life of your dog to ask questions, receive guidance and organise further training, tailored to your specific wants and needs. We are always more than happy to help you whenever we can!
  • Can I get a refund if I can't attend?
    If you cancel your training more than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, the amount paid for the training can be refunded - GST. If cancelled within 48 hours, you can receive a refund of half of the cost of the training. The reason for this is that spot/session is now not able to be filled by anyone else.
  • I am going to miss one of the classes in my course, what happens?
    You have 12 months to make up any classes you miss, so simply just book in for the course and let us know that you will not be able to attend one of the sessions. Then let us know at a later date within 12 months, that you wish to make up the class you missed! We will put you into another suitable class to make up the missed class/es!
  • Is it possible to receive individualised attention for my dog's specific behaviour issues?
    Absolutely! At Bonnies Dog Obedience and Puppy School, we understand that each dog may have unique behaviour challenges. That's why we offer personalised training sessions and behaviour modification programs tailored to address your dog's specific needs. Our expert trainers will work closely with you and your dog to develop a customised plan for success. In Fact at Bonnies we will often have extra trainers available to assist you and your dog or puppy during your course. This is in Addition to the trainer taking your class.
